Climate: Germany has a mild weather, with hot summers and wet winters. The average temperatures are 2°C in winter and 24°C in summer. It rains during the year, especially in July.

Currency: The official currency of Germany is Euro. Previously it used the German Mark.

Cost of living: There are many ways for students to reduce their costs, student dormitories and shared flats offer reasonable housing; low-priced super markets and pubs catering to students are also helpful. Why Study in Germany

1.8 million students around the world go abroad to attend a higher qualification in universities. Almost one tenth of those students choose to come to Germany. 

Modern German universities combine theoretical work with its practical application. They both teach and train - basic research is amplified by applied research. Interdisciplinary assistance is common and many of them cooperate closely with international firms and with other research institutes in Germany and out of the country. This increases the graduates' chances on the job market.

Many students no longer want a purely theoretical schooling today. Many of universities of applied science in Germany offer balanced academic training necessary for a proficient career. Practical knowledge in regional companies is often part of the curriculum. German companies are concerned in attracting well-trained alumnae from overseas. And in many cases, these former students can be employed for the company as a foreign representative once they return home.

Education System: Education for pupils between 6 and 18 years old is free and compulsory in Germany. 

At four years old, German student begin their education at a primary school until age 10. The course of the rest of their education is determined by the results obtained from the tests given after that primary phase. Almost half of the students go on to an upper-level school (Hauptschule) for an additional 5 years. Once this level of education is completed they go on to occupational training for an additional 3 years (Berufsschule). Besides the classroom training, the students will have practical, onsite training also. 

Another group of students who completed their primary education will obtain classroom training (Realschule) during six years related to commerce and administration. Upon completion, they can further their training at a higher level professional training school (Fachoberschule). 

Students wishing to gain entrance to a university will obtain thorough education for 9 years (Gymnasium) after which they must pass tricky tests to obtain the diploma. 

Germany is well known for the high quality of their education. 

Germany has many excellent schools of Music, Fine Arts, Cinema and Photography. 

The “Winter Semester” starts in October and “Summer Semester” starts in April.

Documents: Students who are interested to take up full time study in German are craved to apply for student visa. Students are granted extensions for one year at a time till the end of course. All International students must leave Germany on completion of the course of study.

For student visa you need to fulfill following documents before being granted a student visa. You should submit following documents:

Entrance Requirements: Admission program in Germany are accepted on the basis of preceding academic record. Although for some management courses a GMAT is required and some engineering programs required a GRE score. You will need to check the requirements of university you are applying to. TOEFL is standard test required for various programs that have English as a medium of instruction.

Visa: 

Application for a Student Visa: All nationals who wish to study in Germany require a visa prior to their departure.

Personal appearance at the German Embassy is mandatory for all applicants. All applicants have to schedule an appointment for personal interview at the German Embassy. 

These appointments have to be scheduled with VFS Global Services Pvt. Ltd., managing the German Application Centers.

Students are required to have a valid passport along with 2 passport photographs.

Students have to furnish proof of possession of a school leaving certificate, i.e. A-level certificate, permitting them to study in Germany.

Students have to have proof that that they possess German-language skills or that they intend to attend a language course in Germany.

Students also must have proof of satisfactory financial resources to sponsor their study and accommodation fees.

Finally students also require a health certificate to prove that they are medically fit.
