Admission Process for Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts College

At Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts small class sizes (15 students maximum in a Culinary Arts kitchen to 1 chef instructor and 12 to 1 in Baking & Pastry Arts), 90% hands-on training and dedicated Internationally experienced Chef instructors give each student the personal attention they need to master the “art” of cooking and baking and pastry.

1-Year Dual Diploma program

  •     April 2, 2012 to March 29, 2013
  •     June 25, 2012 to June 28, 2013
  •     September 24, 2012 to September 20, 2013
  •     January 7, 2013 to December 20, 2013

6-Month Diploma Programs

  •     April 2, 2012 to September 21, 2012
  •     June 25, 2012 to  December 14, 2012
  •     September 24, 2012 to March 29, 2013
  •     January 7, 2013 to June 28, 2013

Pre-Requisites
Students admitted to Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts must meet these pre-requisites:

  1.     Graduation from Grade 12 or equivalent OR If a student is 19 years of age or older, you may be accepted under the Mature Student Category without having your Grade 12 Graduation.
  2.     Citizenship - Canadian citizen; landed immigrant or immigration approval (study permit)
  3.     Language - Ability to read, write and converse in English
  4.     Approach - A positive attitude and a sincere motivation to learn
  5.     Attribute - A serious commitment to becoming a professional culinarian

    Schedule an appointment to tour Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, if possible.

Application Process:

Step 1: Send in your completed and signed application form along with your admissions essay (250 words minimum, letter of intent) and a non-refundable application fee of $150 CAD.

Step 2: Our Admissions Committee will then review your application and notify you of acceptance within 5 business days.

Step 3: Once you have received notification of acceptance, it is suggested to submit the 1st Tuition Payment (as outlined on the application form) within 5 business days to secure your seat for the preferred class start date and schedule.

Step 4: Prior to your course start date, the Institute
 must receive the following:

  •     1st Tuition Payment (as outlined on the application form)
  •     High School certificate/diploma or be 19 years of age or older
  •     Photocopy of your valid driver’s license or birth certificate
  •     Proof of medical insurance coverage
  •     Doctor's note or test result showing your immunization against Hepatitis
  •     Serving It Right Certification
  •     English Language proficiency result-TOEFL preferred (if English is not your first language)
